Our Story
L/M by Leota Mae LLC was formed with our signature tagline, "Own it! Rock it! Don't Let'em Knock it!" in honor of my daughter and my grandmother.
I always dreamed of owning my own business, and these two amazing women gave me the courage and strength to launch it.
My grandmother (Leota Mae) was named after a heroic Native American Indian who saved her mother's life. Every Spring, she would remind me how May was her favorite month of the year. And, it was her middle name.
My daughter was supposed to be born in June. She was born early, in the end of May, the very month my grandmother loved. My grandmother was already with the good Lord, so she never had the opportunity to meet my daughter.
L/M represents my daughter's initial (L) and the (M) is for me (mama). The infinity sign and heart represents how I have and I will always continue to tell my daughter, I love her to the moon and back times infinity. That is why the L/M is inside the infinity design.
One day, I was looking at our L/M gemmed key chains that I have hanging from a mirror, and realized it just so happened to be the same initials as my grandmother, Leota Mae!
I felt in that moment it was a sign from the Lord, I had been praying about our future. A way forward, a vision for us girls. Championing freedom for our Children of America is key to their success to live an abundant and healthy life without any type of sexual exploitation at any level!
